Only experience and education obtained by 10/24/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification [GS-6] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-5 in the Federal service. Experience may include 1) Performing husbandry duties for colonies of wild carnivores according to set protocols (e.g., preparing specialized diets, feeding, handling, monitoring, cleaning enclosures, etc.) with special attention to disease prevention; 2) collecting, recording, and summarizing biological data; and 3) observing and handling wildlife. OR Possess one full year of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master’s or equivalent graduate degree, if directly related to the position. OR A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement Minimum Qualification [GS-7] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-6 in the Federal service. Experience must include 1) Performing husbandry duties for colonies of wild carnivores, according to set protocols (e.g., preparing specialized diets, feeding, handling, monitoring, cleaning enclosures, etc.) with special attention to disease prevention; 2) Working independently to complete projects as well as on a team, including guiding lower-graded staff such as technicians, interns, or volunteers; 3) collecting, recording, and summarizing biological data; and 4) observing and handling wildlife. OR I possess one full year of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master’s or equivalent graduate degree, if directly related to the position. OR A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is a Biological Science Technician, GS- 0404-6/7 working in Carr, Colorado for the R6-National Black-Footed Ferret Conservation Ctr.
