In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-4: I have one year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-4 level. OR 2 years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. GS-5: I have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level that equipped me with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples include Initiate and distribute authorizations after determining patient eligibility; Contact state agencies to determine medical eligibility within jurisdiction; Maintain files of elective procedures; Schedule admissions; Obtain information regarding patient billing. OR I have 4 years of education above the high school level. GS-6: I have one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level that equipped me with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples include: Determine patient eligibility as a prerequisite to the authorization of funds; Determine alternate resources available to patients; Conduct personal interviews with patients and/or family members; Maintain an automated system to ensure the accurate accountability of funds; Ensure consistency and correct use of document coding. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is located at the Great Plains Area Regional Drug Dependency Unit Winnebago Ne. The primary purpose of this position is to abstract and interpret data from medical records for preparation and submission of third-party claims, maintain the medical records, and provide clerical and/or administrative support to DDU management. Incumbent also assists with the records management responsibility for thefacility.
