This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a Mechanical Engineer (0830-series), a Computer Engineer (0854-series), an Electronics Engineer (0855-series), a Mathematician (1520-series), or a Computer Scientist (1550-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. For the ND-5: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist leading the execution or direction of lightweight, heavyweight and future torpedo systems to support development efforts, research, integration, or technology efforts for warfare systems. For the ND-4: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-3 pay band (GS-9/11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist applying systems engineering principles to support lightweight, heavyweight and future torpedo systems development, integration or technology efforts for warfare systems. You will serve as a Supervisor Engineer or Scientist in the Weapons Computer and Software Systems Branch (Code 8523) of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15 and the ND-4 encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-12 and GS-13.
