Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Extensive knowledge of MWR mission, vision, functions. Ability to develop a thorough understanding of the MWR Director’s philosophies, priorities, preferences, and objectives in order to conduct in-depth, comprehensive analysis relating to actions, projects, and programs; provide recommendations; and make decisions from an overall manager’s standpoint. Knowledge of the goals, principles and techniques of recreation program delivery. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques. Ability to plan, conduct and document a variety of comprehensive studies and reports. Knowledge of effective group relationships and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with a variety of people in structured and unstructured situations. Ability to define develops, discuss, and coordinate difficult problems, tactfully and with much flexibility. Skill in written and oral communication to provide information papers, documentation of analysis, reports, and correspondence, and to participate in briefings, conferences, and operational meetings. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. The incumbent serves as the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Business Activity Manager. This position has the responsibility for managing through subordinates Vacation Rentals, Campgrounds, Marinas, Food & Beverage and Maintenance programs by formulating instructions and directives necessary to operate a fluid, profit generating business activity with a fluctuating customer base.
