You must meet the Basic Requirements listed in the Education Requirements section and the Specialized Experience to qualify for Management Services Specialist, as described below. For GS-11: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-09 in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience for GS-11 includes: 1) Work that involves serving as technical advisor to management on budget administration, human resources guidance, acquisition planning, property and supply management, and general oversight and control of the administrative support activities; 2) Serving as a liaison on Human Resources matters; preparing documentation for personnel actions and initiating transactions in automated personnel system; 3) Analyzing reports on various administrative functions such as travel, budget and property. For GS-12: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-11 in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience for GS-12 includes: 1) Advising management of Federal employment and merit promotion principles, laws, regulations and policies; 2) Reviewing administrative data and Agency policies making recommendations on improvements for administrative support functions such as budget, procurement, human resources, supply and space management; 3) Preparation of reports related to various administrative functions. No Relocation Incentive will be offered. No Permanent Change of Station Incentives will be offered. This position is outside the Bargaining Unit. This position will not be filled until the Department’s Placement Assistance Programs have been fully utilized. Additional selections may be made from the vacancy announcement.
This position is located in the Office of Inspector General, Office of Management and Policy, Division of Procurement and Administrative Services, Branch of Administrative Services. The Branch is the focal point within the OIG in providing day-to-day management, oversight and technical direction of OIGs administrative management activities. This position is outside the bargaining unit.
