A minimum of one year of experience that demonstrates skill in applying asset protection techniques and methods, to include good customer service skills, familiarity with electronic article surveillance (EAS) and electronic surveillance equipment, detection of known theft merchandise, and familiarity with exception-based reporting. Have good communication and analytical skills in the application of asset protection techniques and methods, and ability to determine necessary actions under various security situations. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. May perform work that poses physical demands beyond normal requirements. FOR POSITIONS INVOLVING FIREARMS/AMMUNITION ONLY: This is a “covered position” for the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act for Department of the Navy civilian personnel. Due to contact with firearms, or ammunition in accomplishing work, DD Form 2760 certifying whether or not a “qualifying conviction” for a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence has occurred MUST be completed. The continuing obligation to notify the immediate supervisor of any qualifying conviction through completion of DD Form 2760 is REQUIRED. Ability to successfully obtain/maintain a Tier 3 background investigation.
