TRAINING TECHNICIAN

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which includes implementing, managing and administering training programs; providing technical guidance and assistance to managers and supervisors on programs, policies and procedures; analyzing and monitoring the overall accuracy and reliability of all training and education data entered into and maintained in automated system; developing educational and training objectives and measurement devices. OR EDUCATION: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Education. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge (comprehensive) of personnel policies, mission, training methods and programs, and testing programs, Advance Distributed Learning, and Non-Traditional Education Support testing. 2. Knowledge of automated systems, personal computers, and software. 3. Ability to analyze data/products to determine adequacy of training programs. 4. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy Other significant fact: OBLIGATED POSITION: This position is obligated to the former incumbent who has return rights to this position under 10 U.S.C. 1586. Upon the employee’s return you are subject to being displaced from this obligated position. Every effort will be made to find an equivalent position for you at the same grade for which you qualify within the commuting area without loss of seniority, status, or tenure. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The primary purpose of this position is as to, as an Enlisted Air Reserve Technician (ART), administer training programs, provide technical guidance and assistance to managers and supervisors within the Numbered Air Force (NAF) on all aspects of the program. Additionally, provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.
