To qualify for this position at the FV-I (FG/GS-13) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (FG/GS-12). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience includes: experience performing installations, maintenance, operation, and testing duties on complex projects or systems, e.g., replacement of system components or facility maintenance across a large geographical area i.e. the Continental United States (CONUS); coordinating complex projects with internal team members and external contacts; reviewing parts of project designs done by others, and written specifications to prevent any possible conflicts with design areas (structural, mechanical, basic electrical, etc.), specifications, or scheduling. AND Physical Requirements: You must be able to perform efficiently the essential functions of the position without hazard to yourself or others. Selectee must pass a pre-employment physical prior to appointment. Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history. Serves as a Lead Engineering Technician within the FAA Logistics Center, Products Services Group. This position has quasi-supervisory duties, as such; approves emergency and short-term leave (up to three days), provides input regarding employee performance, conduct, and disciplinary issues. Is considered a technical expert within the organization for the assigned system or specialty area.
