Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: leading and executing program, budget, financial and contract management oversight; reviewing, analyzing and defining problems; and formulating recommendations for improvements in budget. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-3/GS-13). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD (R&E)). The USD (R&E) serves as the Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for research, development, and prototyping activities within the Department of Defense (DoD).
