You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT (IOR): The 1515 occupation series has a specific educational requirement which apply to all positions. Education must have been completed in a U.S. college, university, or other educational institution that has been accredited by one of the accrediting agencies or associations recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. A. Possess a Degree in Operations Research (transcripts are required) OR B. Possess a Degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. (transcripts are required) In addition to the basic education requirements identified above, applicant must also meet the specialized experience described below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: your resume must describe one year of specialized experience at the NH-03 level in the Federal Service which includes work that involves: (1) developing baseline cost estimates for the complex designs of the PM’s system; (2) developing and reviewing funding requirements for budget input (i.e. cost analysis and estimation, life cycle cost estimates, business case analyses/cost benefit analyses, etc.); (3) applying operations research concepts, principles, and practices related to the mission, objectives, purpose, configuration, characteristics, and program parameters to identify cost factors and relationships; (4) analyzing and synthesizing data to develop solutions through the application of analytical techniques; and (5) managing and/or directing various functional areas of cost estimating, economic analysis, cost validation, portfolio analysis, operational effectiveness modeling, modeling, simulation, analysis and evaluation for assigned program(s). The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 (or GS-13 equivalent).
