Basic Requirement: 1. Must possess a J.D. or LL. B degree from an accredited law school. AND 2. Must be a member in good standing of the appropriate licensing authority of any state, territory of the United States, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or District of Columbia bar AND To qualify for the GS-14 level position, applicant must have successfully completed at least one full year of professional legal experience as a practicing attorney equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector which will be determined by the nature and complexity of casework and legal issues for which responsible, the level of responsibility exercised, and the degree to which such experience equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position. Applicant must have relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position include knowledge and experience with federal statutes, regulations, and rules in ALL of the following areas: Military Justice Administrative Law Legislation Ethics National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
