GG-11: You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-09 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience and knowledge with conducting investigations (counterintelligence, background investigations, or investigations related to national security); experience assisting, supporting, or collaborating with counterintelligence personnel in support of mission, goals, and objectives related to the Defense Industrial Base; experience synchronizing background investigations to CI activities; understanding of CI indicators; experience conducting or producing briefings related to CI or national security; experience using written communication collecting and referring complete information answering the basic interrogatories required by counterparts of a suspicious contact or incident; experience supporting all personnel in matters involving CI awareness and the foreign intelligence threat and makes recommendations of appropriate CI countermeasures. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. GG-12: You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-11 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Advanced experience conducting or supporting investigations (counterintelligence, background investigations, or investigations related to national security); experience in conducting CI collection activities in cleared industry and produces and disseminates relevant reports meeting the full range of mission collection requirements; ); advanced experience using oral communication skills to conduct or produce briefings related to CI or national security; advanced experience assisting, supporting, collaborating, and recommending ideas with counterintelligence personnel in support of mission, goals, and objectives related to the Defense Industrial Base; advanced experience integrating with CI personnel directly related to national security; expert experience synchronizing background investigations to CI activities as an equal partner with other mission areas such as Industrial Security (Critical Technology Protection); experience identifying vulnerabilities and threats to sensitive and classified information and technology and the trusted workforce; advanced experience evaluating, prioritizing and managing risk within the cleared industry portfolio. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. In this role you will assist CISAs responsible for providing CI Functional Services, oversight, and support to the cleared Defense Industrial Base (DIB).
