In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Qualification Standards. ONLY EXPERIENCE OBTAINED BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this position that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. To be creditable, the specialized experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07), pay band or equivalent. Specialized experience is described as planning, tracking, issuance/retrieval of all assets by maintaining positive control of physical Information Technology (IT) Hardware assets to meet business requirements. OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: I have a master’s or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Education in excess of 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of commonly applied inventory management and supply principles, procedures, techniques and practice. 2. Knowledge of established inventory management, systems, warehouse tactics and techniques. 3. Knowledge purchase requirements and supply requisition processes. 4. Highly skilled knowledge and capabilities in utilizing Microsoft Excel and Excel programs and features. 5. Knowledge of acquisition processes, automated records and control systems, material substitution criteria, and storage, issue and disposal processes. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: PHYSICAL EFFORT: The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, some bending, crouching, stooping, stretching or similar activities when making visits to work sites. Also, some moderately heavy lifting and carrying is required. Some heavy lifting, 25 pounds and over with assistance from co-worker or lifting device may be required. A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL IS REQUIRED WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in an office area with occasional visits to and inventory verification at industrial warehouse environments. The work requires routine visits to deliver, retrieve, and exchange equipment with customers in office locations throughout the installation. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
