GS-09You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Providing support to senior level specialist in the coordination of various administrative services essential to the operation of the office, including, but not limited to HR, finance, management and information systems, acquisition, training, records and files, travel, office supplies and equipment, facilities and property management, fleet management, credentialing and key control, and time and attendance, Utilizing a purchase card to initiate procurements for goods, services, and equipment, Assisting in more complex procurements and prepares purchase orders and support documents, Reviewing, overseeing, and assisting travelers with travel related functions in an automated travel system, including travel authorizations, scheduling of travel, obligation, preparation of travel vouchers, and recording travel expenditures, and Maintaining current and accurate office files of correspondence, directives, regulations, and other information. OR Education: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and experience. Graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level, which is 1 year, may be used to qualify at the GS-09. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
