To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-04 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-03 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR): Applicants must meet the below IOR to be further considered. Specialized Experience, positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled. OR For GS-4: Successful completion of 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in subjects related to the position.(TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) ***To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the below general experience and the above IOR by the closing date of this announcement General experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience assisting and transferring patients in wheelchairs, stretcher, or medical beds. Coordinating patient transportation. Cleaning, storing, of disposing of Reusable Medical Equipment (RME). Conducting inventories of transport equipment. Collecting patient information, orients patients to the hospital. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have two years above high school. The incumbent functions within the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Nursing Service as well as Voluntary Services and strives to maintain quality throughout the continuum of care. The primary responsibility of the incumbent is the safe and timely transport of patients in wheelchairs, on a stretcher or ambulatory and items supporting patient care to and from various locations with the Medical Center.
