TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

You may qualify at the GS-GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of traffic management, and Alternate Lead COR responsibilities, policies, principles, and practices sufficient to conduct special studies and program reviews concerning contractor performance affecting various transportation systems used by DoD worldwide on movement and storage of personal property. In-depth knowledge of specialized functions such as transportation procurement, laws, rules, and regulations to assist in conducting studies involving research and development of new systems or methods of improving existing systems for movement and storage of personal property during adverse situations where operational barriers exist. Thorough knowledge of DoD, and DoD components, policies, and procedures to provide staff advice and assistance to DoD components overseas in resolving difficult and complex shipments of personal property Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
