Specialized experience is defined as: Displaying comprehensive understanding of varied intelligence research and collection techniques and practices; Utilizing multi-source intelligence systems to gather and report data; Performing complex research, identifying data systems/sources, and creating collection requirement assessments for supporting stakeholders; Utilizing research tools to evaluate open-source materials, geospatial data, and structured and unstructured information. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD (R&E)). The USD (R&E) serves as the Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for research, development, and prototyping activities within the Department of Defense (DoD).
