MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. You may qualify at the GS-09 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector which includes: 1) Assisting with the prevention of unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of classified national security information. 2) Performing work in multiple security disciplines to include: physical, industrial, information, and operational security. 3) Familiarity in preparing contract statements of work for proposals, contract data deliverables, and contractor proposals. OR A master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree; or have completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or equivalent; or have obtained a LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled. NOTE: College transcripts must be included in your application package if you are qualifying based on your education. OR A combination of experience and education. (Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements as specified above. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-11 and below.) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of the Chief Security Officer (OCSO), Physical Security Division. The incumbent serves as a Physical Security Specialist. The incumbent is responsible for the prevention of unauthorized access, use, theft, or disclosure of classified national security information by implementing security best practices, policies and procedures and other physical security programs for all EOP personnel.
