To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least six (6) months of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates your ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-03 level. OR One year of education above the high school level. OR Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-03. GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates your ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-04 level. OR Two years of education above the high school level OR A combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-04. GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: providing patient registration and eligibility services information, interacting with patients to obtain and process demographic and insurance information for alternate resources, private and commercial insurance. OR Four years of education above the high school level. OR A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 are also qualifying. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. Typing Proficiency: The typing proficiency requires applicants to type 40 words per minute based on a five minute sample with three or fewer errors. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement
The primary purpose of this position is to provide registration and eligibility services information by interacting with patients to obtain and process demographic and insurance information for alternate resources, Purchased Referred Care, and private/commercial insurance. The position is located in Lawrence, KS. Incumbent reports to the Supervisory Health System Specialist.
