Successful completion of a 4-year college or university degree with a major course of study or substantial course work which directly relates to a CYS field: early childhood, elementary, secondary, special education, child and youth development, psychology, youth program administration or a closely related field. In addition to the requirements mentioned above candidates must possess the following: 1. Demonstrated twelve (12) months work experience in at least two (2) CYS program types (FCC, SAS, etc.) that included management of a child or youth program. The work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. 2. Knowledge of management analysis, personnel development, and APF and NAF funding and oversight relationship to CYS programs. 3. Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. 4. Comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and the ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences. OR A combination of education and experience. Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in education (early childhood, elementary, secondary, special education, child and youth development, psychology, youth program administration) or a field appropriate to education, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described. In addition to the requirements mentioned above candidates must possess the following: 1. Demonstrated twelve (12) months work experience in at least two (2) CYS program types (FCC, SAS, etc.) that included management of a child or youth program. The work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. 2. Knowledge of management analysis, personnel development, and APF and NAF funding and oversight relationship to CYS programs. 3. Highly Preferred Applicants meeting the requirements above and with experience in the following areas may be considered Highly Preferred and sent to management first for consideration. Highly Preferred candidates possess all of the following: 12 months of work experience in MST, SAC and/or Youth Sports This experience must be clearly listed on your resume.
This position is located at Ft. Drum Child and Youth School Services. This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies throughout the program.
