Only experience and education obtained by 10/25/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification [GS-09] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-7 in the Federal service. Experience may include: (1) establishing priorities, allocating resources, and supervising the mobilization, demobilization, and reassignment of wildland fire suppression resources; (2) ensuring preparation of contingency plans; (3) monitoring incident and administrative intelligence; (4) directing ordering and procurement; and (5) assisting with the administration, integration, and oversight of the use of telecommunication equipment, computer based applications, and other related communications equipment. OR Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Logistics, Advanced Supply Chain Management, Fire Management, etc. OR A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Specifically, i. This position is a Logistics Management Specialist, GS- 0346-9 working in Atlanta, Georgia for the R4-NWRS Fire Management Division. This is a not-to-exceed one (1) year temporary promotion assignment. This temporary promotion may be extended without further competition; however, it may not exceed a total of five (5) years. This temporary promotion may be made permanent without further competition.
