WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Applicants must demonstrate that they meet one of the Basic Requirements AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Note: You must submit documentation to support your claim or you will be found ineligible. Basic Requirement for the GS-0401, Biologist: You must meet one of the items listed below (A or B): A. You must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Must provide transcripts) OR B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in response A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (Must submit transcript.) Basic Requirement for the GS-1301, Physical Scientist: You must meet one of the items listed below (A or B): A. You must possess bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. (Must provide transcripts) OR B. Combination of education and experience: education equivalent to one of the majors shown in response A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (Must provide transcripts) Basic Requirement for the GS-1320, Chemist: You must meet one of the items listed below (A or B): A. You must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics. (Must provide transcripts) OR B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (Must provide transcripts) Basic Requirement for the GS-0601, Health Scientist: A. You must possess a bachelor’s degree or graduate/higher level degree with a major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. (Must provide transcripts) AND Specialized Experience: GS-13: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service performing the duties listed below: Collaborates with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders to identify the appropriate data, methodological approaches, and designs to determine user needs and how they align to organizational objectives; Confers with stakeholders, project sponsors, and leadership about project requirements, progress reports, findings, visual outputs, and recommendations; Translate complex concepts, findings, limitations, and recommendations of improvements into easy-to-understand products to communicate to both experts and nontechnical audiences; Experience in working with teams with a variety of backgrounds, particularly those with highly technical skills in statistics, code development, and/or medical countermeasure development.
