Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience and/or show the ability to perform common work involved in installation and maintenance. I can troubleshoot, repair and calibrate electronic controls, indicating and recording systems, electrical wiring systems and associated fixtures, controls and equipment used on lock and dam machinery and facilities, drainage and flood control structures, etc. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly formed. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Physical Effort: Climbs and works in high places and in confined areas, some requiring a permit. Work frequently requires pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently requires standing, walking, climbing to include towers, kneeling and bending. Work Conditions: Works outside and inside on structures in all weather extremes. Subject to electrical shock, cuts, bruises, burns and danger of falling overboard. Incumbent may be exposed to dirt and grease, noise, odors, fumes and smoke. Employees are required to follow established safe working procedures. Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided to minimize or reduce hazardous conditions, and its use is mandatory.
