HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY)

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researching military personnel records, regulations, and policies to identify errors or discrepancies pertaining to active duty service time, awards, benefits, military pay, and separations; 2) Ensuring personnel data in systems such as the Navy Decorations and Awards (NDAWS), Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC), or other personnel systems are accurate and complete; 3) Investigating and resolving customer inquiries concerning issues with personnel records, including identifying the source of the problem and taking corrective action; and 4) Drafting official correspondence in response to customer inquiries or other official Navy matters, such as responding to Congressional and Department of Veteran Affairs inquiries.
