SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR (SCREEN-OUT) – A Selective Placement Factor (SPF) has been identified for this position. Selective Placement Factors (SPF) are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for the position. Applicants who do not meet the SPF are ineligible for further consideration. The SPF for this position is: Experience developing and tracking complex architecture projects and products for a hospital/healthcare environment. In addition to the SPF above, applicant must meet the specialized experience described below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-12: Requires one full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: coordinating health architecture projects; monitoring compliance with architecture management standards, policies, and procedures; and communicating architectural project status with leadership. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-13: Requires one full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. In addition to the specialized experience above for the lower grade, the GS-13 requires specialized experience managing, identifying, evaluating, and implementing architecture strategies, recommending problem/issue solutions; and providing training and guidance to include the development of architecture standards and quality plans. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Clinical Informatics Design Knowledge Management Organizational Awareness IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: the work is sedentary and does not require any special physical effort. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and attendance at meetings and conferences away from work site. Employee may carry light items such as papers, books, and portable computers, or driving a motor vehicle relative to attendance at meetings. The work often requires long hours to meet project deadlines and to devise corrective action and solutions to unexpected technical or management crises resulting in sometimes highly stressful work situations. Employee will serve as a Program Analyst, Health Architect (HA) within Business Architecture section of Strategic Investment Management located at the Veterans Healthcare System in Washington, DC.
