Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience includes providing advisory human capital management services in areas of organizational policy, recruitment and placement, classification, organizational structure, and overseeing a variety of administrative and personnel related support services. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is located in the Operations and Administration Division (OAD) of the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC). The incumbent is responsible for the full range of work in seven of the ten human resource specialties (classification, compensation, recruitment and placement, employee benefits, employee development, performance management and employee relations), and serves as the back up to the AO in areas such as budget, finance, and general administration.
