BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Plans, coordinates and evaluates a comprehensive suicide prevention program plan for a wide range and all phases of services, including preventative, institutional, outreach, rehabilitative, and community based services; plans programs and coordinates mental health care services in support of department goals; monitors compliance and identify area of need for improved efficiency, effectiveness and qualify of mental health services; makes recommendation for allocation of resources for provision of services for behavioral health issues; conducting quality assurance program for mental health care services. Selective Placement Factor: A current, unrestricted U.S. license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – Mental Health (MH) or equivalent licensure or certification to provide independent behavioral health services. You must meet all qualification requirements by the cut-off date to be considered. Your application will expire after 3 months. This position serves as a Mental Health Specialist who will be considered the Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Pine Ridge Service Unit in Pine Ridge, SD. The incumbent will develop, implement, monitor and evaluate suicide prevention activities through collaboration with tribal government, federal government and other community programs. The position reports to the Behavioral Health Director.
