You may qualify at the GS-11, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Implements IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems. Participates in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate system security policies. Test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data to ensure the effectiveness of network operations and protocols in troubleshooting and isolating security threats. Knowledge of broadcast IT systems and how to maintain broadcast operations. Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) fundamentals and associated reporting tools such as eMass. OR B. Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: combinations of successfully completed a master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree, if related, and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210, series as listed below: You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following four competencies listed below: 1. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
This position is part of the Defense Media Activity, Defense Media Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, networks and data through the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of information security programs, policies, procedures and tools.
