To qualify for a Supply Technician (FLO), your resume and supporting documentation must support:A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. For current and former Federal civilian service employees, to qualify for the GS-07 grade level, specialized experience must be at the GS-05 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. For all other applicants, to qualify for the GS-07 grade level, specialized experience must be at the GS-06 grade level or equivalent in the military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Maintain data in automated supply systems in order to respond to inquiries and process a wide variety of routine and complex supply transactions and adjustments. Follow up on unfulfilled orders and processes order cancellations when necessary. Conduct extensive searches to gather information, research problems encountered, reconstruct and resolve material problems. Track and provide status of actions and/or the availability of lateral support and cross agency sources of supply to avoid or alleviate work stoppages. Ensure configuration control is enforced on all repair part requisitions. B. Education: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters and record boxes. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity. Some work is performed in an office setting, and at times will be required to go into production areas, ships, _barges and warehouses. The incumbent may be assigned to work areas where certain potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present. These agents may include, but are not limited to: fumes, dust, noise, ionizing and non- ionizing radiation, chemicals, etc. To ensure employee safety and health, the shipyard maintains personal protection programs consistent with applicable laws and regulations. These programs may include engineering controls, training, work procedures, use of personal protective equipment and medical survei11ance programs. As part of the surveillance programs, the incumbent may be required to take a medical examination to assess his/her qualifications for duty involving work with these agents.
