Inventory Management Specialist (NX)

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/20/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05 grade level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: To qualify for this position at the GS-07 level, you must meet one of the following: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Conducting research and maintaining perpetual inventory accounts for non-expendable equipment in a data base system; Determining required sources of equipment, purchase card program and simplified acquisition procedures; Using bar code scanning equipment and appropriate tagging equipment to implement property accounting systems; Researching and analyzing information to resolve questions and issues, and improve operations; Advising on the management, control, and accountability of equipment in use. Or Education: Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.). The S.A.A. provision is an educational achievement based on class standing, grade-point average or honor society membership. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts. Or Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education (in excess of the first year or 18 semester hours) to meet total experience requirements. To qualify for this position at the GS-09 level, you must meet one of the following: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Managing a variety of expendable items and durable medical equipment; Developing and supporting the creation of acquisition strategies to acquire and purchase durable medical equipment; Implementing federal and agency programs for the return and reutilization of medical supplies; Utilizing best practices, principles and tools, concepts and methodologies to determine and evaluate supply system performance; Serving as a point of contact for the coordination of material support and the resolution of logistics problems. Or Have successfully completed a master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. of J.D., if related that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. This position serves as a Property Manager in the Material Management Division of the Logistics Service in a Veteran Affairs Health Care System (VA HCS) and supported catchment area, with responsibility for the inventory and lifecycle management of all non-expendable (NX) equipment in the assigned area(s).
