SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing inspections as member of a team of higher graded specialists assigned to an office to determine compliance with safety and occupational health laws and regulations; 2) Conducting verbal entrance and exit briefings with managers, supervisors, and work leaders prior to and after surveys and/or inspections to explain the purpose and scope of inspection and pertinent safety and occupational health regulations; 3) Surveying and/or inspects material handling, storage, maintenance, transportation operations, and support facilities for the purpose of determining adherence to established safety practices and program requirements; 4) Interpreting construction standards, practices and techniques, materials, equipment and utilities systems to determine compliance with building safety standards and/or to develop effective controls of work and equipment hazards.
