GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes reviewing and performing proofreading or quality control of data in at least one type of computerized system, reviewing and editing documents, and utilizing basic features of spreadsheets for various tracking purposes. OR Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; OR (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience using standard drafting techniques or experience using computer-aided design and drafting systems to produce or update engineering drawings as directed by others. OR Education: One half year of graduate level education leading to a master’s degree, including any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics (or equivalent). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience performing basic engineering computations; data collection, presentation, and analysis; and experience using Computer Aided Drawing software to update technical drawings from sketches.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics (or equivalent). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
