To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree: In order to qualify for this position, you must have a master’s degree in Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-09: One (1) year of specialized experience with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Examples Include: provide initial mental health evaluation, follow-up counseling, facilitate patients with available resources both public and private, coordinate additional appointments through patient evaluation, the use automated data systems for documentation narratives, therapy plans, and compliance reports. -OR- Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in social work. GS-11: One (1) year of specialized experience with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Examples Include: provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments, mental health evaluations, coordinate patient care, make diagnosis, serve as liaison to health care providers and stakeholders to establish patient care plan, respond to emergency mental health situations, use counseling theories, techniques, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), and (DSM-5). -OR- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in social work or related field or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in social work. Selective Placement Factor: Must possess licensure as a Licensure as a certified Social Worker or equivalent certification to provide independent behavioral health services. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is under direct supervision of the clinic supervisor. The incumbent will provide direct professional social work services through routine mental health evaluations and patient referral to individuals, families, and groups through inpatient and outpatient setting.
