Specialized Experience Required: To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience that may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified. (Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11. Only experience/education gained by closing date of this position will be considered.
This position is located in the Joint Force Headquarters, Plans, Operations and Readiness Directorate – J3, Joint Operations Center (JOC) in Austin, TX. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Plans and Operations Specialist, develop plans and procedures, and coordinate preparations for state active duty and the operational employment of ARNG personnel and military resources. Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.
