Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds. Must have knowledge of sizes and weights of vehicles. Must have and maintain a Class A Commercial driver’s License (CDL). Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). “This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Must be skilled in all facets of maneuvering and driving vehicles. Must know the sizes and weights of vehicles and be able to judge overhead and size clearances, turning radius, and braking distances. Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License in accordance with state regulations if transporting 16 or more passengers, including the driver, off the installation Moderate physical effort in reaching, bending, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs. Frequent handling of objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Lifting and securing safety chains, towbars, and hooks. Work is mostly outside and in all kinds of weather. Exposed to dirt, fumes, and the possibility of cuts and bruises. Operates vehicles in all types of traffic and weather on public roads. Exposed to danger of serious accidents.
About the position: This position will be assigned to the Recycling Center at Wright Patterson AFB. The purpose of position is to operate motor vehicles with gross vehicle weight of more than 10,000 pounds, and up to 26,000 pounds.
