To qualify for the FG-06 position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least 52 weeks/ one year of specialized experience equivalent FG-5/FV-C work. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is: providing a variety of administrative functions such as creating and maintaining a file management system for administrative and technical files, conducting interviews, preparing clear concise reports, researching, writing and typing non-technical and technical correspondence, and using automated systems for data entry. To qualify for the FG-07 position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least 52 weeks one year of specialized experience equivalent FG-6/FV-D work. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is: experience that demonstrates analyzing problems, gathering data, recognizing solutions, planning and organizing work, and conveying information in an office environment; creating and maintaining administrative and technical files, conducting interviews, preparing reports, researching, writing and typing non-technical and technical correspondence, and using automated systems for data entry. NOTE: Incumbent must possess office automation skills. Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement. Must be able to type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Eligible applicants meeting the minimum qualification requirements and selective factor(s), if applicable, may be further evaluated on the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s) listed in the announcement. Based on this evaluation, applicants will be placed in one of the following categories: score order, category grouping, or alphabetical and referred to the selecting official for consideration.
Serves as an Aviation Safety Assistant in a Flight Standards Field Office. Provides administrative support to Aviation Safety Inspectors by obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing certificates, and maintaining office files.
