To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: – Analyzes logistics business processes in automated information systems (AIS) built around COTS and GOTS software to ensure that proposed system structures, designs, and updates maintain the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the software products and system infrastructure to the maximum extent possible according to system requirements, agency policy, and department regulations. – Provides IT systems expertise to lead project teams ensuring the technical solutions and related requirement documents for proposed system changes and software updates are consistent with business policies and efficient system performance. – Suggests resolutions to system design and problem issues that recognize potential trade-offs in system performance, efficiency, customer and business needs, the criticality of the process relative to other processes in the business area, and the technical options offered by the current software. – Provides expertise to individual project teams in identifying the best use of data elements, tables, internal data configurations, and tools within a COTS package in order to design and document application requirements and updates that can be subsequently developed and deployed, resulting in maximum system performance and accurate business process support. – Applies business process engineering concepts and methods sufficient to conduct projects designed to identify potential improvements in the way information technology is applied to key business processes. – Ensures application interfaces, extensions, forms, and reports comply with regulatory requirements governing IT security and DLA’s logistics business processes. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
