Policy Analyst

You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Policy Analyst, as described below. For GS-12: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-11 in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Specialized experience must include at least two of the following: Experience in analyzing and writing legislative, policies or budget proposals related to agency initiatives. Experience performing program analysis to identify gaps in services, develop alternative solutions, and propose legislative or policy changes. Experience managing and contributing to drafting technical assistance on laws, managing and drafting and clearing responses to Congressional inquiries. Experience managing reports for legislative or policy review, to include drafting responses.
This position is located in the U.S Department of Labor (DOL), Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS), Office of Research and Policy (ORP). This position is inside the bargaining unit. Current DOL policy requires on-site work at least 5 days per pay period.
