Materials Handler (Forklift Operator)

Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: WG-5 EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. To be qualifying your experience should demonstrate the following: Able to perform work that involves receiving, storing, and assembling for issue, shipment, and distribution, a wide variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities using mechanized, automated, and manual material moving equipment, devices, and systems. General experience of the methods used in processing, handling, and storing of materials and equipment through a supply facility. Have experience following safety procedures to recognize and report workplace hazards. Must be able to frequently lift and carry objects that weigh up to approximately 70 pounds. Able to frequently walk, stand, bend, stoop and reach. AND TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment.
