To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): GS-04 – 1 Year of General Experience OR 2 Years of Education above the High School Level. General Experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. GS-05 – 1 year equivalent to at least GS-4 OR 4 years of education above the high school level. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-05 – 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level that equipped me with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples include: Scheduling and re-scheduling appointments, knowledge of medical terminology, recording information accurately, basic nursing skills, ability to interview patients. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is located in the Bemidji Area, IHS at Red Lake Service Unit within the Nursing Services section. Health Services provided include adult and geriatric, Inpatient, Ambulatory, Emergency and Community Health. There are 17 inpatient beds. Clients ages range from birth to geriatric (neonatal, infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric). The purpose of this position is to perform general clerical duties involved in the operation of the Emergency Department (ED).
