GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; and 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures. ***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certificates for the GS-07: Firefighter I and Firefighter II, Airport Firefighter (REQUIRED ONLY AT NAS WI LOCATION), HAZMAT Awareness, Operation, and Technician; these certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement, and possess National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic. If you do no possess all the above certifications you will be rated ineligible. If you do no possess all the above certifications you will be rated ineligible. Copies of Certifications MUST be submitted with your application.*** GS-05: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; 2) Assisting with the performance of rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, and eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Operating fire communications equipment; 5) Assisting with controlling hazardous materials incidents; and 6) Assisting in fire protection and prevention. ***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I/II, (Airport Firefighter for Naval Station Whidbey Island), HAZMAT Operations, and CPR. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC, ProBoard or through a state that offers reciprocity to IFSAC or ProBoard.
