The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/06/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/06/2024. GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Serving as an expert in analyzing the impact of existing or proposed legislation on asylum and/or immigration benefits programs; Developing program standards, policies and procedures; Coordinating the long-range planning of new asylum and/or immigration benefits programs; Assessing the productivity, effectiveness and efficiency of asylum and/or immigration program operations. This position is located in Refugee, Asylum & International Operations, Asylum Division, New York Asylum. As a Supervisory Asylum Officer (Deputy Director) you will provide direction to staff. Engages in the administration of Immigration and Nationality laws pertinent to the Asylum Program, serves as a USCIS representative on asylum matters, and leads in the strategic mission and resource management.
