In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 (Alternate A). https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/2200/information-technology-it-management-series-2210-alternative-a/ EXPERIENCE: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving AND have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade NH-02 (GS-11) or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include: Applying of cybersecurity principles, operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses and organizational requirements. Ability to develop plans and techniques to fit new situations to improve overall program and policies; and establish precedents in application of problem-solving techniques to enhance existing processes. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Demonstrated knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of enterprise architecture and systems engineering. Comprehensive knowledge of the latest advances in enterprise architecture theories, research, methods, principles, and techniques from private industry, research organizations, and the federal government management to include knowledge of modern software and systems design practices, development, and test processes and standards. Extensive knowledge of system engineering and enterprise architecture concepts, methods, and principles for IT systems to include system engineering life-cycle management process DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF). Skill to develop plans and techniques to fit new situations to improve overall program and policies; and established precedents in application of problem-solving techniques to enhance existing processes. Skilled in project management and systems techniques, principles, and practices while having the ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy to make recommendations to higher organizational management and contractors. Ability to anticipate problems and develop sound solutions and action plans to ensure program/mission accomplishment. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses and organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation). Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk). PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
