In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as applying the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) and/or the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); interpreting laws and regulations related to compliance with environmental statutes and regulations; and preparing reports/briefings for senior management. To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as implementing the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) and/or the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); collaborating with internal and/or external stakeholders regarding integrating environmental statutes and regulations; and preparing reports/briefings for senior management. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of environmental regulations (i.e., the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)). Skill in program management. Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals and stakeholders. Skill in oral communication. Ability to lead and mentor others. Ability to provide recommendations to improve the integration of environmental statutes. Skill in written communication. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
