You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience that is equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal service. Examples of Specialized experience include but are not limited to tracking and monitoring financial and program trends, analyzing, and interpreting current and historic data, analyzing and compiling data to determine the most efficient and economic use of funding for program proposals and utilize Federal payroll systems to manage employee time sheets, and oversee travel and charge card processes. -OR- Education: Successful completion of a master’s degree, two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or possess a LL.B. of J.D. in business management or a related field. – OR- Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level. There are no qualification requirements for a detail assignment. However employees must meet any positive education/licensure requirements in order to be detailed to positions with these requirements. Detail assignments do not include additional compensation and the selectee will not earn time-in-grade at the higher grade level. Physical Demands: Occasional travel to remote Incident Command Posts (ICPs) via helicopter and fixed wing may be required. Occasional camping within ICPs may require some hiking over rough terrain. Camping may include living in remote and primitive conditions, to include sleeping in a tent and preparing your own food, while doing fieldwork for up to 21 days per month. Work Environment: Frequent travel to field ICPs to validate financial elements of an incident and interact with employees and contractors.
