Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have an exceptional knowledge of the makeup, operation and installation of a variety of light aircraft systems, assemblies, and components; ability to detect and isolate malfunctions and determine when new assemblies, components and parts should be installed or when these items can be repaired or reworked and the extent of adjustment required. Skill is required in removal, replacement and adjustment of systems and assemblies and in connecting, meshing, aligning and adjusting the various systems and components with each other; must be skilled in the use of jigs, precision measuring equipment, and mechanics’ hand tools, in the use and readout of powered ground equipment, test stands, and cockpit instruments and controls. Must possess a current FAA A&P rating and be eligible to obtain an FAA Inspector Authorization rating IAW FAR Part 65. Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. Must be physically able to lift object weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently stands, bends stoops, crawls and work in tight spaces.
