This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position requires current registration as a Professional Engineer by any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. Note: You must submit a copy of your license with your application. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading the production of construction documents (plans & specifications) for large and/or highly complex buildings (i.e., multi-story office buildings, training facilities, multi-purpose buildings, aircraft hangars, medical facilities maintenance shops, food service facilities, and/or large housing projects), including civil engineering design (site grading, stormwater management & erosion control) drawings, plans, specifications, and design-build requests for proposal; 2) Reviewing facilities construction submittals for conformance to the requirements of civil engineering contract drawings/specifications as well as requirements for state/local regulatory agencies; 3) Designing and developing layouts and construction drawings including permit documents using Autodesk Civil 3D and generating specifications to UFGS Master Specification Format; 4) Acting as a mentor to junior civil engineering staff within the agency; 5) Applying knowledge of DOD or other federal contracting regulations and procedures in the procurement of Architecture-Engineering (A-E) and/or construction services; and 6) Preparing government or other related estimates for A-E and/or construction contracts, including assessing work of engineering disciplines.
