Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Sheet Metal Worker Leader without more than normal supervision. Check others work for compliance with supervisor’s instructions, assure safety rules are followed, and repair aircraft components using various types of tools. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading) Ability to Lead or Supervise Ability to Use Hand Tools, Power Tools, etc., for Metal Work Dexterity (Assembly, Disassembly, Reassembly, etc.) Knowledge of Equipment, Structure, Materials, etc. (Includes Constructing, Repair, and Forging) Layout and Pattern Development (Includes Geometric Projection and Triangulation) Physical Effort: Lifts parts weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Bench work and prolonged standing. Working Conditions: Works inside shop. Must wear safety glasses, shoes and gloves. Exposed to noise, dirt, grease, heat, and fumes. Danger to cuts and bruises from handling metal parts. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of this position.
