To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/05/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to… Position requires excellent relational and communication skills; knowledge of and experience with computers; oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff members within the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System (OKC VAHCS); particularly with HPACT and Homeless staff. Knowledge of transitional housing programs for Veterans is required. Time management skills and a high level of judgment are necessary. This position also requires independence of action, general latitude for decision making and knowledge of information sources concerning complex questions, policies, and procedures within the Homeless PACT. Knowledgeable of the various duties of the associates to assist when necessary. Must be aware of medical center, CBOC, section, and service policies and procedures that maintain proper flow of the services and clinics. Requires higher than average skill knowledge of medical terminology necessary in the preparation of correspondence, medical records, and patient concerns. Knowledge and skill to coordinate the work of HPACT and comprehensive knowledge of all programs within the Ambulatory Care service as they relate to facility operations. Knowledge of various systems utilized on a weekly basis, VSSC, VISTA, CPRS, Pyramid, BISL, and other data reporting systems to ensure appropriate management of clinic functions. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Most of the work is performed at a VA facility with adequate lighting and climate control. Travel by vehicle is required when incumbent performs duties at VA locations and in the community where homelessness is found. The environment on occasion may not be sanitary and have risk to safety, risk of infestations and have evidence of substance use and mental health concerns. This Program Support Assistant position is located at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, primary role of the Program Support Assistant (PSA) position is to provide administrative, analytical and evaluative work and technical functions, tasks and special projects of increasing difficulty in support of HPACT and Primary Care.
