In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Mastery experience of advanced concepts, theory, principles and practices of oceanography, geophysics, hydrography, physics, acoustics and/or geology. Experience of NAVOCEANO scientific programs and requirements. Experience in providing technical guidance/oversight to Divisions within the Department. Experience in using a high degree of originality in planning and executing approaches to problem solutions by way of a thorough review of existing methods, definition of problem areas, and selection of the appropriate geophysical, acoustic and oceanographic methodology. Experience with a wide variety to remote sensing and image analyses applications for the analysis of acoustic, geophysical, bathymetric, and oceanographic data. Experience in providing scientific and technical advice, guidance, and coordination regarding the various technical projects underway within the Organization. Experience in resolving technical difficulties requiring professional scientific judgement which are referred from the Department and providing technical advice and assistance on subjects involving acoustics, geophysics, and navigation to other Office components, other Government organizations/agencies and contractors.
